Leave Casas Ibáñez in Albacete province, cross the villages of La Manchuela and follow the winding approach into Cofrentes, Valencia. This guide follows our filmed drive to the Júcar river pier and distinguishes places on the journey from optional visits that need a stop or detour.

The drive, in video order
Casas Ibáñez
The starting town in La Manchuela. If you have time before setting off, the church of San Juan Bautista and the Virgen de la Cabeza sanctuary are local visits. They are not presented as sights visible from the moving camera.
Alborea
A small town amid the open agricultural landscape. The regional tourism authority highlights the church of Nuestra Señora de la Natividad, vineyards and the surrounding countryside. Park and walk if you want to visit the centre.
Casas de Ves
The village centre has a Plaza Mayor and the church of Santa Quiteria. Consider it a separate short stop; the filmed route alone does not show every landmark.
Cantoblanco and El Viso
These smaller settlements are named in the video. Their services and precise stopping points need a field check, so this guide makes no parking or facility promises.
Balsa de Ves
The regional guide describes local fountains, stone shelters and walking routes in the wider area. Treat those as optional visits rather than features necessarily visible from the road.
Into Valencia province
After the provincial boundary, the journey reaches its curving section. Allow extra time and drive to the visibility and road conditions.
Cofrentes
The town lies near the meeting of the Júcar and Cabriel rivers. The castle and Era del Chulo viewpoint are worthwhile town visits if you decide to park and explore.
Descent to the river pier
The video passes the Cofrentes nuclear power plant area before descending towards the pier. The plant is a location marker, not a suggested stop. At the pier, you can consider a separate Júcar river cruise after checking the operator’s current service.
Optional stops and detours
In the towns: Alborea’s church, Casas de Ves’s square and Balsa de Ves’s local trails need time off the driving route. In Cofrentes: the castle and Era del Chulo viewpoint look towards the river landscape; the Júcar cruise is a booked activity separate from the drive. Check access and hours directly before travelling.
